Yep, a wizard named Duncan. He’s an alcoholic, his life can often be a trainwreck, but he’s also one hell of a wizard.

He and Randall have been friends for over sixty years. Duncan had to, embarrassingly, hire Randall after a summoning he attempted went wrong, and the thing he summoned began trying to kill him. Since that situation, which Randall never lets Duncan live down, they have forged a fast friendship and saved each other’s lives, several times over. Unusual for a wizard and a Half-kin, who are more often warily respectful of each other at best, and enemies at worst.

Despite some heavy trauma from his past that led to his drinking problem, Dunc is intelligent, steadfast, loyal to a fault, and when sober, a heavy-hitting wizard who you’d want by your side in any dangerous situation.
